MHS SOCIAL STUDIES

For the class of 2028, each student must take and pass, World Studies, Civics & Government, Economics, and United States History. For the classes of 2025, 2026, & 2027, each student must take and half a credit of World Studies, Civics & Government, Economics, and United States History. For students interested in pursuing two or four year colleges, three years of social studies courses are recommended.

The chart below outlines the various sequences of courses for each level in the social studies program.  Their purpose is to serve as a guide for selecting courses over a period of four years.  It should be noted that these charts are not meant to imply that once students choose a level for the remainder of their high school careers. The majority of students follow the black arrows.
