Testimonial Quotes

The goal of the instructional coaching program at SAU 24 is to increase student achievement by empowering teachers through sustained, job-embedded professional development. A key component of the instructional coaching program is the teacher-coach relationship, which is built on trust, collaboration, and honest communication. Work between the teacher and coach may include, but is not limited to analyzing data, developing assessments, reviewing student work, navigating curriculum, learning about new strategies, and participating in coaching cycles (both teacher-centered and student-centered).The teacher-coach relationship is non-evaluative and is focused on the teacher’s reflection, growth, and professional development. Since the partnership is non-evaluative, the coach will not share details of coaching sessions with administrators*. In an effort to support the professional growth in each school, coaches and administrators may discuss who is engaging in coaching cycles as well as building-based trends. Teachers are encouraged to share about their coaching experience with colleagues and administration as they feel is appropriate and beneficial. The impact of the instructional coaching program in SAU 24 will be fully realized when conversations about professional practice are as common as conversations about student achievement, that happens in an open and safe environment where all educators are empowered to share their professional growth journey.
