The Primary and Intermediate Resource Rooms are classrooms where special education programs are delivered to students with disabilities. Instruction is designed to meet the specific needs of the students to maximize their learning potential. Individual needs are supported in the resource room as defined by the student's IEP. The resource room teachers work closely with the classroom teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals to support individual students.
The Resource Room is for the student whose learning takes place in a regular classroom setting but who needs some specialized instruction in an individualized or small group setting for a portion of the day. Occasionally, students require that their core instruction in Language Arts or Math take place in a resource room environment, but that occurs very rarely. Students can also take advantage of academic support designed to assist students with work from their general education classes with a focus on organizational skills and study skills.
