**Small and Tall Book Club at Underhill School

The "Small and Tall ~ Reading Together" Book Club is open to any second grade student (small) and their designated adult (tall) for participation on a month-by-month basis. This Book Club will read a selected book over the course of a few weeks, and come together once a month for refreshments and discussion. How can you be part of the program for this month? It's easy!

WHERE? We will be meeting virtually via Zoom for this school year.

WHO? Any second grader and his/her adult of choice by registration each month**

HOW? Fill out the form sent home to register for the next Book Club Discussion Date. We will send the book home with your child for the two of you to read together. You can read it aloud, take turns reading pages or chapters, or read independently then discuss what you’ve read - as long as you’ve shared the reading experience!

WHEN? The date will be indicated on each month's registration form We invite you to bring a snack related to the story or an object or quote from the story to help our discussion.

WHY? The program objectives are to encourage frequent reading in the home, to promote reading and conversation about books in families, to forge a stronger school-to-family bond, and to encourage literate practices in the community.

INTERESTED? Fill out the registration form (when it is sent home), detach it, and return it to the Library at Underhill School. Space may be limited, so reserve your place as soon as possible! We will confirm your registration and send a book home with your child.

Alternately, you can send the following info to Mrs. Landsman:

  • Your name

  • Your child's name + teacher

  • Your email contact information

** PLEASE NOTE: We often have a “waiting list” so if you find you really cannot attend after registering, please let us know as soon as possible to allow another Small/Tall a place for this month.
