About Ms. Morenz
I am celebrating my 32nd year at the Moore School. What a wonderful little school we are all part of! I taught Kindergarten 34 years ago in upstate N.Y. Things were VERY different then. I love teaching Kindergarten! I have taught Readiness for 11 years, first grade for six years, second grade for one year, kindergarten for three years, and a first and second multi-age classroom for 11 years. I have also taught at the college level, which is not near as much fun as the little guys!
I grew up in the beautiful little city of Sherrill, NY. I went to Oneonta State College in upstate NY for Elementary Education and I have a masters degree in Special Education from Notre Dame College in NH. I have since kept current by taking many different courses over the years.
I live in Manchester with my partner, Kevin. I have two sons, Matt, 32, and Alex, 28. They bring me great joy and I am very proud to be their mom. I have a very large extended family, as I am the youngest of seven. We are all over the country, but find several times each year to be together.
My leisure time is spent gardening, reading, playing and listening to music, being outdoors, doing various forms of art, going to the lake, and spending time with my family. I play guitar, piano, and am learning the violin...slowly but surely! I have taught guitar here at the Moore School for the past 17 years or so.
This year is going to be full of changes for your child. I look forward to getting to know them while helping them learn and grow. Communication with the parents of my students is a priority for me. I appreciate parents reaching out to me for help with situations that arise with their children. I have a lot of teaching and parenting experience to share if needed! There is nothing too insignificant...please do not hesitate to reach out.
Together in the journey-
August 2nd, 2019
Dear Kindergarten Family,
My name is Ms. Morenz and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher for the 2019-20 school year! I am very excited to meet all of our new friends and get to know you and your child better! There are a few things I would like to share with you before school begins.
The first bell letting students into the school rings at 8:05. If your child is not taking the bus to school, drop off occurs at the front loop between 7:50 and 8:05. Students report to the playground from 7:50-8:05 and to the main office thereafter. If you are later than 8:15 your child will be considered tardy and you must drop him/her off at the main office.
Our day will end at 2:45pm. Dismissal will begin at 2:45 with first bus run and parent pick-up (pick-up is dismissed to gym). Second bus run will dismiss to the playground at 3:00 and remain outside until the buses arrive at 3:20.
**If your child is taking the bus to and/or home from school please check the Moore School website or call the bus company at 222-2248 for the bus number AND bus run. This needs to be done PRIOR to the first day of school. Please come prepared to let me know of your child’s daily transportation at our Meet and Greet.
The only school supplies your child will need to bring on the first day of school will be a backpack, snack, drink and lunch (if not purchasing hot lunch). All other supplies will be provided. Kindergarten students eat lunch at school with grades 1 and 2. We will have a designated snack time before lunch, as well. In your child’s backpack, please include an entire outfit, including socks and underwear. We frequently have accidents, spills and messes! ☺
Lunch is $3.00 (drink included), breakfast is $1.50 per day, and milk is .50. I your child chooses to have breakfast, please ensure they are here before 7:50 so they will have time to eat before our day begins. You can pay by either cash, check (made out to Moore School) or sign up online and add money into your child’s lunch account. More information will follow for the online lunch accounts. Menus are sent home at the beginning of each month in our Friday Folders so you have plenty of time to plan accordingly. Later in August, feel free to check out the lunch menu on the school website to get an idea of meals served (click the apple tab on the right side). Please be sure that ANY money you send to school needs to be in an envelope or baggie with your child’s name and what the money is for, such as: lunch, milk, ice cream, popcorn, school store…
I will have our classroom website up and running just in time for the first days of school. This will contain information about our school and classroom as well as helpful links for both parents and students. The website will be updated weekly throughout the school year and can be viewed on The Moore School website under the teacher webpages. Make it a “favorite” on your computer!
Mrs. Poulin and I have many wonderful activities planned for this school year and we can’t wait to begin! I look forward to the first day of school on Thursday, August 29th! ☺
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by e-mail (email@example.com) at anytime.
