What is Sport?

The Sports course at Sarum Academy's Sixth Form encompasses a wide range of different elements of professional sport, from performance through to monitoring and support. Students experience the whole of the Sport industry.

We have fantastic Sports facilities on-site and all are usable for Sixth Form students throughout the day, including our all-weather 3G pitch, fitness suite and multi-use games area.

Not only do we have outstanding sports facilities, but we are also proud of our partnership with local side Salisbury FC which forms our Sixth Form team, Salisbury FC Academy. Our Sport students have the opportunity to get involved in first-team coach-led training sessions and weekly league matches, in addition to a number of work experience opportunities directly through the club and the option to complete the FA’s ‘Introduction to Coaching Football’ qualification.

What will I study in Sport?

Students study a diverse range of units, including Anatomy & Physiology, Sports Coaching, Business in Sport and Sports Psychology, which provide an insight into the skills needed and demands of many different areas of the sports industry.

You'll be assessed through a range of practical assessments, coursework and exams
