GCSE English Language (AQA)

Mandatory for students that don't achieve a 4 in either GCSE English Literature or English Literature
This does not count towards the three subjects that students choose to study.
This essential qualification will be assessed through both coursework and examinations. Class discussion, role play and other creative activities will also be used to aid your learning and understanding.
You will study:
Reading
Discover how writers use their skills when writing fiction or non-fiction.
Poetry
Use the skills you have learnt to interpret poems. Poetry is about your personal response to a poem.
Shakespeare and Literary Heritage
Understand the themes, ideas and characters, and why these texts still have huge appeal today.
Spoken Language
Understand how people speak differently in different situations.
You'll develop your skills in:
Speaking and Listening
Writing
You will be assessed through exams, sat in November and June of each year
