Last week was a busy, fun, and productive week! It was our first "full week" without any special events, so it was nice to ease into the schedule and be able to meet with all of the art classes. I hope you enjoy their lovely work!

Kindergarten made some beautiful monarch butterflies, caterpillars, and milkweed leaves to go with their nature study. So colorful and fun!

First-graders worked on their collage and painted trees, and made some apple harvesting baskets from beeswax as we talked about all our favorite apple treats and fall foods. The children also had time for exploring drawing and painting on their own.

In second grade, the children continued working on their purple crayon drawings, and did some fun drawing using different types of lines...squiggly, curly, straight, sketchy, long, short, wavy, zig-zag, and more...

Third-graders worked on adding pastels to their glue resist drawings, then had some fun using puffy paints to create some designs.

Fourth-graders are still exploring texture. This week they continued drawing animals from photographs and drew some awesome stuffed animal portraits as well!

The fifth grade Crazy Hair Portraits are looking AMAZING! Check out these creative and beautiful artworks!

Sixth graders are immersed in their concert posters. They have sketched out a design, planned a color palette, and added information about concert venue, date, and time. It's always fun to see what they come up with for these posters!

Seventh and eighth graders are working on mixed media projects and painting the art room stools. They even let me take a few pictures of them in their natural habitat...

In Enrichment, we made some creations, painted some acorns, tore up recycled paper for a papermaking projects, and made signs for the SBS soccer team. Go Swans!
