For the Fall 2021 Keep Kids Reading Campaign, Bookshop Santa Cruz is partnering with Santa Cruz Pride and the Santa Cruz County Office of Education to bring LGBTQ+ books into local public schools. Donate to Keep Kids Reading and the money will be used to purchase books featuring LGBTQ+ authors and lived experiences at a discount to populate growing sections in local public school libraries.

During the month of October, the Santa Cruz Public Library will have bookmarks highlighting LGBTQ+ booklists. The public library will also feature some relevant recorded story times on their Youtube channel. They would like to welcome LGBTQ+ teens to join their Advisory Councils of Teens.

YOU'RE INVITED!
Advisory Council of Teens (ACT) is the SCPL young adult advisory group. ACT is open to all San Lorenzo Valley young adults, ages 12-18. The main focus of the ACT is young adult services, including programs, events, spaces, and policies. This is a good opportunity for students to fulfill community service credits, obtain job skills, develop leadership abilities, and acquire college extracurricular experience.
