Course Description

This year students will explore and gain an understanding of early American history and culture. This year’s curriculum will cover the time period between Colonial America until the U.S. Civil War & Reconstruction.  Academic literacy, critical thinking skills, and written expressions are also stressed. 

This school year will cover the following places and events:

*Unit 1- The 13 Colonies 

*Unit 2-The American Revolution 

*Unit 3-The New American Government 

*Unit 4- A New Nation

*Unit 5- Westward Expansion 

*Unit 6– Division

*Unit 7– Civil War & Reconstruction
