In order to ensure that Clairemont High School receives all the state funding we are entitled to, we need your help. Collecting fully completed LCCF (Local Control Funding Formula) information makes a significant difference in the amount of LCFF funding CHS receives. We are asking that ALL families follow the steps outlined on the Enter LCFF Data in PowerSchool Parent Portal Job Aid by this Friday, September 17, 2021. The process is very simple and takes only a few minutes. The privacy of your information will be upheld and will not be used for any other purpose. Our collective efforts to reach a 100% completion rate can make a huge difference in terms of the funding we are able to allocate toward programs and materials for your children.
If you have any questions about this process or need assistance accessing your Parent Portal account, please email CHS Site Technician, Mr. Steve Durham (sdurham@sandi.net) for more information. If you haven't set up your parent portal account, just follow these simple steps outlined HERE.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Principal Williams

Research and best practice suggest that meaningful discussions about education require those involved to speak a common language, albeit in different dialects. In appreciation of this precept, Education and Community Outreach through UCSD, offers contextually grounded programming for parents and caregivers under the auspices of Parent and Caregiver Education (PACE). Programming is delivered in English and Spanish without charge to schools, districts and community-based organizations.
PACE workshops are custom designed to attend to the unique needs of audiences in terms of content and delivery (face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and completely online). Each session is about an hour in duration and can be differentiated by age level (pre-kindergarten, elementary, secondary, and postsecondary) or tailored to meet the needs of multiage groups.
Workshops are augmented by short-form videos available for download from the Education Channel at University of California Television (UCTV) and companion guides that may be found at the University of California Professional Development Institute (UCPDI). These resources are also publicly available without cost.
Please use the link below to let us know what workshops you might be interested in.
Starting today, Monday, September 20, 2021, the Research and Evaluation Department will be using Digital Document Delivery, via PowerSchool, to send Student Score Reports (SSRs) from the Spring 2021 DEMI assessment to parents of currently enrolled students. The DEMI student score reports provide information to students and families on the district wide math assessment administered at the end of last year. If you have questions about your child's DEMI Score Report, please reach out to a member of the CHS Admin Team.
Are you new to CHS or still getting familiar with the campus and want to know where your counselor is? Then check out this short video made by the CHS counseling staff to help you figure out just where they live on the CHS campus and the best way to get a hold of them.

It is the mission of the CHS athletics program to teach our student-athletes principles that will guide them for the rest of their lives. CHS athletics isn't just about better athletes, but better people. That is why we are so excited to launch our new CHS Player's Creed (see below). In collaboration with the CHS Athletic Leadership council and various stakeholders, the CHS Player’s Creed was developed to outline what we believe it means to be a CHIEF. Every student participating in athletics at CHS, as well as their parent/guardian will be required to sign the CHS Student-Athlete Contract which states the following:
As a student-athlete at Clairemont High School you have the privilege of being part of a memorable and life changing experience. With this privilege comes great responsibility. Therefore, it is the expectation of the CHS admin team and Athletic Director that all who participate in athletics actively work to model character and integrity of the highest quality in the classroom, on the court/pool/field, and in our community. By signing this contract, you agree to strive to live a life worthy of emulating by exhibiting Courage, Humility, Integrity, Endurance, and Focus in all that you do.

What is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is a web-based tool that enhances communication between parents, teachers and students by providing access to student information from home, work, or from any remote location with Internet access. PowerSchool allows students and parents to easily access their grades, report cards, progress reports, schedules, attendance, and allows parents to update their contact information as well as emergency contacts, and more.
What do I need to login?
STUDENTS:
Students can log in using their Student ID# and password.
PARENTS:
It is imperative that you stay on track with your child's grades, and Powerschool is the easiest and best way to do so. Before trying to create an account, please request a Parent Portal letter from Clairemont High School Site Technician, Mr. Steve Durham (sdurham@sandi.net) via email; include your student's full name and Student ID# in the request. Once you receive the letter from Mr. Durham,:
Click on the button labeled "Create Account."
Enter the parent/guardian account information. Each account must have a unique email address and username.
Create a password.
Enter the Access ID and Access Password for each student you'd like to add to your account from the letter(s).If you have students at other District schools, that school can provide you the Access ID and Password as well.
Take note of your username and password that you have created, because you will need them to log in to the Powerschool portal once you click on "Enter."
**Please note** The Access ID is not the same as your child's student ID**
Help yourself to instructions to update your email and contact information in Parent Portal. (This information can also be found on our school website under the “Parent” tab by clicking on “PowerSchool"
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Powerschool has a "having trouble signing in" link directly on the PowerParent portal. You are encouraged to follow these steps first to reset your password. If you are still having trouble, you may come into the front office or contact our Site Technician, Mr. Steve Durham at sdurham@sandi.net.

Greetings from the Tribe,
Clairemont High School Foundation works to support all things Chieftains! We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and we offer the tribe extra resources to support the Vision and Mission of CHS through grants, scholarships, volunteers, fundraising, staff appreciation, events and so much more. The Foundation continues to grow and be creative in the ways we share resources to benefit CHS..
You can support the Tribe too by making a Chieftain Pledge! Whether it’s a simple, generous monetary donation or perhaps something more creative like a priceless Spring Fling silent auction basket(s), let’s partner together for the benefit of all of the Clairemont community.
The Clairemont High School Foundation fundraising efforts allow us to keep each and every dollar contributed right here at CHS raising more funds for our students. We offer support to all CHS clubs, teams, theater, staff, events, alumni, and so much more! Watch for a repeat of our community decorating contest for Halloween which started as a safe and festive quarantine event last year and ended being a huge success and needs an encore!
