FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q-How do I know my status?

A- Check the your Class List for status, you will not receive an personal email- as we have hundreds of members. You may clear up items pending only during the semester in question. Membership is not retroactive, deadlines to apply are FINAL.

Q-Can I be Active one semester, and not the next?

A-Yes. All info is in our ABOUT tab.

Q-Do I have to serve volunteer hours to be in CSF?

A-No, please read the difference between Active and Inactive in our ABOUT tab.

Q-Can I serve hours during the summer and use them for September?

A-No, as we are not a "club" during the summer.

Q- What hours count for what semester?

A- Hours served from mid February to mid June are eligible for your Fall September Application. Hours served from September-mid February are eligible for Spring February Application.

Q- When do I submit my volunteer hours?

A- You submit them along with your application, during the application drives. Once you upload your application, you cannot return to it to add hours, so make sure you submit all at once.

Q-Where can I find the Volunteer Log and requirements?

A-On our SRHS CSF Site, under ABOUT tab, as it explains the difference between Active and Inactive membership.

Q-What if I can't get signatures for the volunteer log?

A-As stated, on the CSF Site, you may upload an email confirming your service (do not forward emails to adviser). An organization's log is also acceptable.

Q-What do I do if I forgot to upload my hours?

A-Once submitted, your application cannot be edited. Hundreds of applications are reviewed and there is simply not enough time to continue reviewing them. Assuming your application is submitted on time, you have to walk-in a hard copy (RM 256) of your hours.

Q-Can I send you proof of hours via email?

A-No, I cannot accept those, as these did not form part of your application. Keep in mind, there are hundreds of applications, allowing this would slow down the application process by weeks.

Q-Is the deadline for applications final?

A-Yes, State Bylaws for CSF, do not allow exceptions. The Google application will not accept any forms after the deadline.

Honoring Student Members

CSF seeks to bring recognition to students that have demonstrated a level of success academically.  Students must apply at the beginning of each semester using the previous semester's grades. The option to submit volunteer hours is available for those that have demonstrated a level of success while serving their community. Please see Active vs. Inactive status. Note: This status can change from semester to semester. Upon graduation, if the student is deemed a Life Member (Sealbearer), the student is awarded a Seal of the California Scholarship Federation for their High School Diploma, and recognition on high school transcript. Optional purchases of Honor Stole and Cords are made available in the spring for Seniors that qualify for Sealbearers, these may be worn during graduation ceremony.
