(Proactive)
Create opportunities for students who are using the computer appropriately to share their computer work in front of the class or with a partner or with the teacher (whichever is preferred by the student/s)
Provide a reward system for students who follow the class expectations regarding computer use
Provide preferential seating near peers who are more likely to ignore inappropriate use of the computer and encourage on-task behaviors
(Consequence)
Ignore if use is non-distracting and for a small amount of time (e.g., does not inhibit student from completing the work)
If behavior is distracting others or is inhibiting the student from completing their work, redirect quietly and as soon as they are on-task, give positive attention
Praise students who are on-task and using the computer appropriately
