Community School Site Coordinator
Hello Encanto Family. I was ecstatic when I learned that I would be the Community School Site Coordinator at Encanto Elementary! I am eager to immerse myself in this lively community. In the past I worked at Health and Human Services Agency for the City of San Diego, Legal Aid Society of San Diego, and Family Health Centers of San Diego, I have discovered that giving back is my passion. After taking a brief hiatus to focus on being a full-time mom, I delved into volunteering at my son's elementary school. This experience led me to work there for 9 rewarding years! While at that elementary school, I took on various roles, but my favorite was helping and connecting with families and students. I am excited to bring my experience to Encanto Elementary and collaborate with you to fulfill the Community School's mission! Come say hi, I’m located in the front office!
Community School Site Coach
Hi there, I am Joanna Voinov, I am the Community Schools Site Coach. Encanto holds a big spot in my heart. My husband, Mr. Voinov is a Kindergarten teacher here and his parents were both teachers here at one time. 18+ years ago I taught K and 2nd grade at Encanto. I took a break from teaching to raise my 3 children. During that time I became an active volunteer and PTA member at their school. For the past 5 years have been a volunteer, ELPAC examiner, and visiting teacher here. I'm excited to continue working at Encanto as a visiting teacher and ELPAC examiner while taking on a new role as part of the Community Schools Team!
Community School Central Office Resource Teacher
Hi! I am Alison Dickens and I am a Central Office Resource Teacher. Encanto is one of the Community Schools that I support in the district. I am excited to partner in the work with Clarisa, Joanna, the rest of the Community Schools Team AND the entire Encanto community. I have been in the field of education for 26 years, mainly as a high school science teacher, with five of those early years as a high school assistant principal. I moved to San Diego from Michigan in 2009 and started teaching at Lincoln High School. I am excited to support this work in an elementary school environment, as inspired by the “Littles” in my life - my 11, 6, and 3-year old nephews. In my spare time, I love watching women’s soccer and I love to travel. In fact, I will travel to watch soccer!
