Abo Elnaga

Mahmoud Abo Elnaga (Naga) is an innovative digital fabrication guru with over 8 years of experience leading innovation-driven projects across academia, industry, and entrepreneurship ecosystems. Skilled in establishing, managing and scaling innovation centers, Fab Labs, and makerspaces, leading cross-functional technical teams, enforcing international safety and operational standards, and fostering collaboration between universities, startups, and corporate partners.

Mahmoud currently serves as Head of Design Workshops and Industrial Design Instructor at the German International University (GIU), where he leads multidisciplinary fabrication facilities supporting Industrial, Fashion, Jewelry, and Communication Design programs, while teaching courses in CAD, materials and manufacturing, prototyping, and digital fabrication. He is also pursuing an M.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering, with a research focus on 4D printing and smart materials.

Previously, Naga served as the Technical Operations Manager at San3a Tech, where he led the setup and operation of 15+ innovation labs and makerspaces across Egypt and abroad, including EME innovation hubs, Orange Digital Center (ODC) and Fab Lab Libya. He has collaborated with organizations such as Siemens, Valeo, L’Oreal, Orange, AAST, and Misr El-Kheir Foundation.

As a freelance trainer and consultant, Abo Elnaga has delivered technical workshops and innovation programs in Egypt and abroad, including with the ITIDA’s Creativa Hubs, SMEs Development Authority in Oman, and several startup accelerators. He has participated in and supported international events like FAB15 conference, Maker Faire Cairo, NASA Space Apps and the 1st design research symposium.

Mahmoud is a Fab Academy alumnus, advanced maker diploma graduate, a Certified Career Coach, and an alumnus of the Train the Trainer Program at HTW Berlin. His teaching style blends real-world prototyping skills with design thinking, empowering students and makers to turn ideas into tangible solutions.
