What do you teach at South? | Math and AVID
What's Your Favorite Quote? | "The things that make me different are the things that make ME." - A.A. Milne
Favorite Saxon Memories as a Student | Driving to Bob's or Roth's Sunnyslope for lunch & trying to beat our best time. So many events & good times surrounding basketball and golf
Favorite Classes when a Student at South | Consumer Econ with Turman & and Physics with Lampert - SO many field trips!
Favorite Saxon Memories as a Staff Member | The lifelong friendships that have been created (#quarantini).
Portable village - more friendships!
The traditions I saw as a student that are still celebrated so many decades later.
Co-teaching Algebra, Algebra Success, & AVID (& following these kids for all 4 years).
What were you involved in at South? | Basketball - yes, Jon Ballantyne was my coach all 4 years! Golf (got into golf because Stortz wanted me to run track my sophomore year to stay in shape - my excuse for not doing this - I HATED running - was that I played golf....my grandpa taught me that week how to hold a golf club). NHS.
List any highlights in life | Cancer survivor & I have 2 miracle girls (I was told I could never have children because of the cancer).
Besides working your dream job, what else are you up to in life? | Trying to keep up with my 2 rambunctious girls, spending time with my mom, 4 wheeling, working in our yard/in my garden, playing family kickball, going over the mountains to Black Butte as much as possible, & camping.
What don't we know about you? | I can pick items off the ground & pinch people with my toes. I have a ridiculous number of pairs of jeans.
What advice would you give your high school self? | To not be afraid to be myself and make decisions that may go "against the grain." To be proud of what my family and I have gone through and to recognize the life skills each event has provided me. To enjoy each moment as life is WAY too short.
