Favorite Classes when a Student at South | Health, Science, Biology and Weights
Favorite Saxon Memories as a Staff Member| I think getting to carry on so many of the Saxon traditions with current students. Each year teaching at South new memories are made. Watching students grow and mature over four years has been amazing to be a part of. It has also been great to form friendships with staff members that were my teachers when I went here.
What were you involved in at South? | I played baseball for 4 years
List any highlights in life | Meeting my wife at OSU and taking an 11 year adventure to AZ before moving back to Oregon. While in AZ one major highlight was working as an athletic trainer at NAU. While there I had the opportunity to work with Lopez Lomong. Lopez was born in South Sudan and came to the United States at the age of 16 as one of the lost boys of Sudan. Lopez went on to Make the 2008 US Olympic team and was voted to lead the US delegation out as a flag bearer. It was amazing to see a young man battle so much adversity and reach one of his life goals!
Besides working your dream job, what else are you up to in life? | I have recently gotten back into golf, my wife loves to play so we try to play at least once a week. Most of you know I love to fish and being out on the water. I fish everyday if I could make it happen. I also, enjoy spending time outside doing yard work and enjoy projects around the house. I'm looking forward to keeping a tradition alive with my friends traveling around the country Fly fishing different river each year.
What's Your Favorite Quote? | "If your dreams don't scare you they are not big enough"
What don't we know about you? | I have two brothers that all graduated from south. I love to cook and pulling weeds in my yard. Pulling weeds is one of my favorite ways to pass time.
What advice would you give your high school self? | Get involved with everything you can while at south. Don't finish high school saying "I wish I would have tried or done this". Put yourself out there and don't be scared to fail. I would have challenged myself more in the classroom as well, I took the easy road because I was not sure what I wanted to do. I feel if I would have challenged my self academically it would have prepared me better for college.
