What do you teach at South? | Wellness II
What's Your Favorite Quote? | Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work
Favorite Saxon Memories as a Student | State semis for baseball, Friday nights for football, being fun and obnoxious in the student section for basketball games. Being the student section for another school in the OSAA playoffs because they lost the night before and their students didn't turn out the next day. Their coach actually came over and thanked us and some of their students came over and joined us as well. Watching the boys basketball team take home a state championship.
Favorite Classes when a Student at South | I gotta be careful because some of the teachers are still here and I wouldn't want to let their age secretly slip out haha.
Favorite Saxon Memories as a Staff Member | Working with my dad as a teacher and coach has been pretty awesome. Coaching some amazing students and having other awesome students in class
What were you involved in at South? | Baseball and Football. Peer mentoring and FBLA.
List any highlights in life | Getting married and having my awesome kids. Travelling internationally (if you can, do it while you are young and it is much easier). I've gotten to referee the #1 D1 women's basketball team in the country.
Besides working your dream job, what else are you up to in life? | I referee Women's college basketball. Also coach the JV baseball team for our school when I am not here I am chasing around my amazing kids (almost 3 and 10 months).
What don't we know about you? | I used to breakdance and also enjoy line dancing my face off. Yard work and refereeing basketball is stress relief for me.
What advice would you give your high school self? | I wish I had known then and intentionally practiced how to take care of myself better. Nutritionally develop better habits and work on my flexibility and not just my strength.
