Dr. Sheeto

Dr. Jennifer Sheeto

Hello and welcome! I'm Dr. Sheeto (aka Dr. Jen), and I'm the school psychologist for students in kindergarten through 5th grade at Salisbury Elementary School and Salisbury Middle School. I've been at Salisbury since November 2016, and I love helping students reach their potential and get the support they need.

As the school psychologist, my primary role is to evaluate students who are thought to have educational disabilities, or who are thought to be gifted. However, I'm also a member of the Student Success Team (SST) and the School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Team (SWPBIS), so I collaborate with teachers and families to find ways to support students before the team decides to refer a student for evaluation.

I have a varied professional background and have been working with children for over 20 years. When I was in college, I worked in a daycare with children just a few weeks old up to 5 years old, and I loved it! I went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in music from Moravian College (Go Hounds!), and then I worked as the child advocate/counselor at Crime Victim's Council in Allentown. That experience was incredibly rewarding, but I knew that if I really wanted to help people, I needed more training, so I applied to graduate school. I attended Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, and earned my Master of Arts (M.A.) in psychology in 2007 and my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in clinical psychology in 2011, with concentrations in clinical neuropsychology and school psychology.

Before coming to Salisbury, I worked in several school districts in Lehigh and Carbon counties, and I also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at a private practice in Hershey. In my spare time, I sing with the Allentown Symphony Chorus, and I love road trips, ramen, and Netflix.
