After seven years of retirement, The Lantern is coming back. As a crew of ten students, the mission was to highlight student life in the quarterly magazine. We, the journalists, look forward to creating a new space to share stories from the inside of Salinas High School.

Traveling to Europe

Over the 2019 summer, students had an experience of a lifetime when they traveled to three different countries with EF Tours. The seventeen day trip included several regions of the United Kingdom, Ireland, and France. Students' explored breathtaking castles and ventured through cities with tour guides and sometimes even on their own. While the students enjoyed their trip, they also documented it on Instagram @shseurope_2019 in which they shared memorable moments of eating escargot, watching traditional Irish dancing, and seeing street performers juggling fire.

Lauren Graham (12)

"One of the most memorable experiences I had on the trip was climbing the Eiffel Tower all the way to the top and getting to see Paris from that view and then watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night."

Galilea Santiago (11)

"The most memorable moment was the last day in Paris. I went swimming in a fountain.... I loved it."
