Scales (Major, minor, melodic, harmonic, chromatic...)
sets of notes ordered by acsending/descending pitch that offer framework for key signiaturesMelodic Intervals (Set intervals like thirds or fourths, randomized...)
intervals are the distance between two notes, like a third, or seventh. practicing melodic intervals is when you play one note after the other. there are also harmonic intervals; which are intervals that are played simuletaneously, this can be a more advanced form of ear trainingTriads and Arpeggios
triads are three note chords, often played simuleltaneously- however, we use melodic triads (do-mi-sol, is an example) when practicing solo. visually on the staff, they often look like snowmen since the three notes are stacked on top of each other. arpeggios are when notes in a chord are performed one after the other, like when notes are strummed on a harp (do-mi-sol-dó-do).Voice tests often consist of a range test, major scale, and a small sung excerpt from currecnt repritoire.
Alterations will be explained in class, and documented here.
