7th Grade ELA Overview

7th grade ELA- In 7th grade ELA, students will read and explore multiple texts including S.E. Hinton's, "The Outsiders", Lorraine Hansberry's, "A Raisin in the Sun", Suzanne Collins', "The Hunger Games", and Bronia Brandman's, "The Girl Who Survived". Along with being challenged to critically think and examine these texts, students will engage in a poetry unit, as well as a end of unit newspaper project upon completion of "A Raisin in the Sun". Throughout the course of 7th grade ELA students will be challenged to improve upon their writing skills as they prepare for their ELA MCAS in the spring.
