Welcome to College Prep English IV and Journalism.

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to work, as we will be working hard to prepare you for graduation, college, your future job, and being a positive and constructive member of society.

In Journalisim, we will publish the school newspaper, The PowWOW, every nine weeks. This involves research, interviewing key people and writing. You will also need to have basic editing and photography skills. In addition to the newspaper, we compete in Journalism UIL in News, Editorial, Feature and Headline writing. We also produce a weekly radio show that airs on KIXY radio station every Thursday after school. This year, we will add a video news segment to our repertoire. This class is just like a job at KLST and KSAN, so be ready to be responsible and to work.

In College Prep English IV, we will dive into British Literature, analyze what we read and make connections to the world around us. We will apply all the skills from English I, II and III into an exploration of our world and how our passions and the passions of those around us drive us into our futures.
