Welcome to first grade! I am so excited to spend the school year with you.
My name is Megan Henderson and this will be my sixth year teaching at Belaire Elementary. I graduated from Texas Tech in 2014 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. While in Lubbock, I met a "west Texas" boy who moved me San Angelo after graduation. We are now married and have two fur babies- a cat named Oliver and a dog named Concho. I am originally from the Houston area, but I have grown to love west Texas. My family still lives in Houston, so I travel back often.
I had dreamed of becoming an elementary school teacher since I, myself, was in elementary school. I had many influential elementary teachers while growing up, and to this day I can remember many of the activities and lessons I did in their classrooms. These teachers have impacted my life, and have influenced me to become a teacher that children can respect and admire, as I did my teachers. My reason for wanting to become a teacher comes from my passion for working with children and helping them grow not only in their education, but also in life. The most rewarding aspects of being a teacher is watching a child succeed. The happiness that comes across a child’s face when a concept is mastered is priceless. Teaching, in my opinion, is the most rewarding career that an individual could hold. As a teacher, my goal is to positively impact the lives of as many students that I can because I, myself, was impacted.
