Letter Jacket Fitting - 12/2 - 3:00-5:00pm

For those that qualify for Letter Jackets, SSR will be fitting on December 2nd from 3-5 at the Band Hall. Anyone in Chamber that doesn't currently have a jacket qualifies, as well as any underclassman that has earned the points according to the Letter Jacket Point Sheet. If you already have a jacket but need an Orchestra patch, I have some in my office.

Mark Wood Concert 12/4

Wednesday 12/3 - Orange Group Rehearsal from 9a-12. Blue Group Rehearsal from 1:30-3:30.

Thursday 12/4 - All Students Rehearsal from 1p-4p. Call time 6:30p. Concert Start 7pm.

Wear black. Concert black adjacent.

TFME

Texas Future Music Educators (TFME) is a branch of Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) that is geared toward introducing possible future music educators to the teacher side of things. It is for anyone that is possibly considering music in the future, whether it's teaching, performing, or something in between. The main perk of TFME is getting to go to San Antonio in February to the TMEA Convention, where all the music teachers in Texas go to learn about all sorts of cool new stuff. If you are interested, stop by Martin's office and grab a pass for October 21st during Bobcat Block. I highly encourage anyone even remotely considering music after high school to check it out.

Chocolate Fundraiser

We are starting to sell chocolate bars to put toward the spring trip! Pick up a box starting on 10/16 and start selling. We will sell until October 31st. Proceeds will go toward the spring trip.

Mykel Martin is the Director of Orchestras at Central High School, specializing in low strings. Originally a guitarist from Junction, Texas, Martin currently plays guitar with rising star Texas Country artist Case Hardin, is the music director at New Hope Bible Church and Grace Christian Church in San Angelo, and also teaches private lessons at Emmanuel School of Fine Arts. He has been at Central since 2018, serving as Assistant Director of Orchestras until 2023, when he took over as Director. He holds a Bachelor of Music with Strings Concentration from Angelo State University and a Master of Music Education in Strings from Texas Tech University.

Carlos Demitri Carrillo III was born and raised in San Angelo, Texas. A proud graduate of Lake View High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from Angelo State University in 2020. During his time at ASU, Carlos was an active member of both the ASU Symphony and Choir, performing in various cities including Del Rio and Fredericksburg. His musical journey extended beyond Texas, as he also performed with Opera Maya, showcasing his talent at venues along Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Currently, Carlos serves as the Assistant Orchestra Director at Central High School, where he continues to inspire the next generation of musicians. He is also an active member of the FMC Choir, contributing his voice and passion to the local music community.
