Digital Citizenship

What is Digital Citizenship?

As parents, educators, and community members, we have to be aware of the responsibilities that come along with technology use with our children and students. There are so many issues to be aware of and questions we should ask including:

  • What age is appropriate for students to begin using cell phones?
  • How much time should children spend using devices?
  • How can we ensure the safety of our students when they are online?
  • How can we best prevent our kids from become cyberbullies or being cyberbullied?

One of the best digital citizenship resources available is Common Sense Media. Common Sense offers reviews of movies and apps, tips, article, and advice for parents and educators, research, and also includes resources in Spanish.
