Hello! I'm Ellie Meyers and I am a senior of the class of 2026 at Saint Ursula Academy. A few quick facts about me include that I run cross country and track, lead my school's Ethics Bowl team, and coordinate and lead one of our schools service groups where we work with Big Brothers Big Sisters and volunteer at Alliance Academy of Cincinnati. I love a good book, going on walks with my dogs, and playing games with friends. One of my dreams is to travel the world and experience as many cultures as possible. I also want to use my experiences to make a tangible impact on both my community and the greater global community. That's why, In 2022, I joined my school's Ursuline Education Network Global Scholars Certificate Program in order to focus my efforts towards making a positive impact and increase my global competence. The Global Scholars Program gave me the resources and mentorship I needed to concentrate what I cared about and turn it into an impactful project.
My capstone project is focused on how art is a useful tool to improve mental health and a positive outlet to express feelings. I assembled bags of art supplies, affirmation cards, and various self-care products which were given to women at Casa de Paz in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as did education about Casa de Paz, art therapy, domestic violence, and more.
