4th - 8th Religion

Mrs. Beth Belcher, MTS

Welcome to Religion class at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic School!

I am so glad that your child is in my class! We are going to have a great year! We will work hard, discuss a lot and get a new perspective on the beauty of our Catholic faith. Please read all the way to the bottom of the page to see what is new in Religion class this year.

Working Hard

Students should come to class ready to participate in discussions, ask questions, contemplate answers and be ready to have a great time learning about Religion. It is difficult to do poorly in my class if students follow directions and turn in their work on time. I work with students so that each and every student is able to grow in faith and grade appropriate academic skills. Students should be prepared to work hard in my class but often times they don't realize how much they have learned because we are having such a great time!

Tutoring days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:20 until 4:00pm, and by appointment. There are no morning tutoring sessions for Religion class. Students should remember to sign in on the clipboard each time they come to tutoring. I will answer questions, give one-on-one help or encourage peer tutoring if appropriate. Students should use the time well to alleviate confusion about assignments.

I have one rule in class - don't talk when Mrs. Belcher is talking! Respect is an important part of any class, but in Religion class we really focus on the dignity of the human person and how we would act if Jesus walked into the room ... since He is with us always, we need to remember that our behavior sets the tone for a great class each day!

Positive Reinforcement

Students will sometimes receive a small 'prize' of a religious nature for particularly good behavior. Here's to having great days together!

** New ** New **New ** New ** New**

All students in grades 6 through 8 will be required to take both mid-term and final exams. There are no exemptions in Religion class for these exams.

Saints and Service Club

Students in 4th to 8th grade are invited to join the NEW Saints and Service Club. We will discover new saints and support the spiritual needs of the school through generous service. We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
