Advent / Christmas
This week we will begin Advent using the resource Advent 1 & 2 Power Points:
1)
The students will:
1 recognise how Christians hope in God’s grace - Mana Atua and strength in times of grief and loss
2 recognise the hope Christians have in the resurrection of the dead
3 identify how Scripture speaks about or images life after death for those who love God and recognise the hope this gives Christians

The students will:
1) identify situations when people experience grief and loss
2 ) recognise the different feelings people experience when grieving
3) identify ways to show aroha and compassion for people experiencing grief.

The students will:
1 recognise that at the end of time Christ will come again and bring the Kingdom or Reign of God begun here on earth to its fullness
2 recognise that with the coming of the Fullness of the Kingdom or Reign of God - Te Tino Rangatiratanga the whole of creation will be renewed and there will be no more sorrow
The Kingdom of God is among you. Luke 17:21
The students will:
1 recognise that at the end of time Christ will return in glory
2 identify what is meant by the Last Judgement and the Second Coming
3 recognise that at the Second Coming people will share in the Resurrection - Te Aranga of the body

The students will:
1 recognise that people are created body and soul and are made in the image and likeness of Te Atua
2 recognise and respect the goodness of the taonga of body, emotions, intellect, will and soul given to each person
3 identify how these gifts enable people to form relationships with God and with one another, to reason and make choices
