Week of November 4th

Thank you for a full day of Halloween celebrations! We enjoyed visiting the pumpkin patch, our special snack/craft from our class parents and to all that attended our parade. It was quite a site!!!

This week we are learning about the letter and sound of Gg.

We look forward to participating in a picture book read-aloud, The Gruffalo. I wonder what unexpected encounters and quick thinking of a mouse journey will take place.

Tuesday, we will celebrate Election Day by reading the book, Duck for President. Who will Preident the Duck or Farmer Brown? Can't wait to share our winner with you!

In Math, we will sort, count, and graph a favorite snack of rainbow Goldfish!

In Religion we will continue learn about our special followers of Jesus, the Saints as the celebrated their feast day on Saturday. We will complete the following sentence, I can be a follower of Jesus by......

We are continuing to work hard in our centers (kitchen, grocery, nursery, community etc.) We are enjoying our new centers to reflect this month and the fall season (market, farm etc.) Just a reminder please review and return your child's hand print the next day to earn more stickers! In addition, please initial your child's hand print letting me know it was reviewed. Keep up the good work :)

Pinky- I can come in and unpack my book bag.

Ring- I can sit on the carpet and participate in our morning meeting.

Middle- I can complete my tasks in my centers.

Index- I can sit at the lunch table and play nice with my friends outside.

Thumb- I can sit on my map during quiet time.

I encourage you to involve your child as much as possible in talking together about the positive behavior we're aiming for and choosing a short-term reward such as playing a family game, extra bedtime book, extra dessert etc. Whatever works best for your family!

In addition, to our Give Me Five we are continuing to be good bucket fillers by sharing, following directions and helping our friends. Have You Filled a Bucket Today? This book helps us to understand how buckets get filled! When children have their buckets filled and learn how they can fill other people's buckets too, they understand how special, valuable, and capable they are. We will sort pictures to show someone being a bucket filler/bucket dipper. Then, glue the bucket fillers to the happy bucket and the bucket dippers to the in sad bucket.
