Music Class at Saint Laurence School
Music has a power of forming the character, and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young. - Aristotle
The only thing better than singing is more singing. - Ella Fitzgerald
Welcome to Music at St. Laurence School! I am Maryl Apadula, and I am the new Music Teacher. I am very excited to get started, to meet the St. Laurence students, and to begin to share my love of music in all of its forms!
I moved to the Philadelphia area from New York about four years ago. I've been teaching music to students from Pre-K through 8th grade for about six years. In addition to teaching, I am a classical and liturgical singer, and I have directed choirs for both adults and children. I am a member of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Choir, and sang in the Papal Masses for the World Meeting of Families. Prior to moving to here, I was a Cantor in the Catholic Church for 25 years, directed two Children’s Choirs, and sang in concerts, operas and church services throughout the Greater New York area. I live in Media with my amazing husband, two dogs and, from time to time, three grown children.
