Members of these Ministries have a special gift to share with parishioners, guests, and visitors to our Parish. Our goal is to create an environment that is warm, welcoming, and friendly so that all who enter this holy place may feel comfortable and at home.
The Greeters provide a friendly, welcoming face to parishioners as they arrive for mass. Following the hospitable example of Jesus, as people arrive to worship greeters are the first to extend a smile, a handshake, maybe a hug, and perhaps comments of mutual interest. They are prepared to answer questions and direct people as appropriate.

Ushers assist parishioners in finding a place to sit for weekly parish Masses and special celebrations. Ushers continue the welcoming hospitality, while finding seating for people as necessary, providing assistance during the service if needed, and later taking the collection. At large gatherings it may be necessary to assist with the flow of worshipers to perhaps communion or veneration. Before the service a ‘lead’ usher ensures sufficient ministers to fulfill the usher and collector duties, and to organize those participating in the procession of gifts. This ‘lead’ usher assigns ushers to carry out the collection of monetary offerings in a quiet and expedient manner, and later ushers tidy the pews in preparation for the next service.

Appropriate presentation of bulletins, is a hospitable gesture to parishioners and visitors. Each week, behind the scenes, hospitality ministers fold the bulletins arranging inserts as necessary. Distributing bulletins after mass is accomplished with a cheery farewell by hospitality ministers.
Training is provided for new Hospitality Ministers and ongoing, and detailed descriptions are available at that time, or if you are interested in becoming a Hospitality Minister.

Hospitality for New Families
This ministry reaches out to new parishioners by way of a phone call by committee members as a way of introduction and making newcomers feel welcome. It includes a small social gathering with these families at church with our Priest after Sunday mass.

Funeral Reception Committee
The CWL sponsors funeral receptions held in the parish. The reception is held following the funeral as an opportunity for the family to meet, in a relaxed atmosphere, with friends and other family. Parishioners may help by contributing sandwiches or sweets.
