Password Security
My science fair project was to study how secure passwords were. I asked three different subjects to try and guess 4 different passwords with hints given. After the first password was guessed, the password was changed with more complex characters. I then repeated this 4 times with different passwords and different subjects. I thought that the more complex the password, the harder and longer it would be to guess it.

Can Humans Tell A Difference Between Different Frame Rates?
In my experiment I tested to see if the human eye can tell the difference between different frame rates. I showed them a video and slowly lowered the frame rate from sixty FPS all the way down to five FPS until they saw a difference. My hypothesis was that people wouldn't see a difference until twenty FPS. The results were surprising!

How much tension does your knee have while being bent?
My project was about testing the tension on the knee (measured with a spring) while being bent at different angles. During my project I bent the knee at a ninety degree angle, forty-five degree angle, and a one hundred and twenty degree angle. To get the exact angle I wanted I used a protractor then used my ruler to measure the length of the spring.

How do Clothes Change How People Think of You?
Have you ever wondered if you could change what people think of you? My hypothesis was that if you wear more formal attire, people will have a better reaction to you. I wanted to see if others have a more positive attitude towards people who look more professional. My results really surprised me.

Which Animal's Hairs make the Best Paint Brush?
All paint brushes are made up of different things and animal hairs. The hairs from certain animals have different properties than other hairs. Some hairs could be more coarse and make more streaks in the paint. The paint brushes I experimented on were sable, synthetic, squirrel, camel, pony, goat, and hog. Each paint brush formed different numbers of streaks per stroke of paint.

Do Video Games Affect Pain?
My project was about video games affecting pain. I did the experiment by placing the subject’s foot into water once without playing video games and once while playing video games and timing them. My hypothesis was that video games can help reduce pain. The experiment proved that video games can help relieve pain.

Comparing Fossils from different Areas
For my project I researched different types of fossils from two different places. I wanted to see the main difference between the fossils of the two places, and to find out why they were different. There were many differences in sizes and types. This was because of the two very different locations in which they came from. These two locations were Brazil and New England.

Which milk spoils fastest?
Have you ever wondered which milk spoils the fastest? Well, lucky for you that is what my experiment is on! I experimented with three types of milk, almond, soy, and 2%. My hypothesis was that soy milk would spoil the fastest. Unfortunately, my hypothesis was not correct. But, the result was very different from what I expected.

What food molds the fastest?
In my project, I tested to see whether raspberries covered by a container or not covered by a container would mold faster. I did this experiment by taking ten raspberries and putting them on two different plates. I put a plastic container over one of the groups of raspberries and left the others not covered. The results shocked me. The raspberries under the container molded more and faster then the ones not covered.

How Dirty are your Hands?
What I wanted to know is how dirty your hands actually are so I swabbed someones hands and let the germs grow.

Temperature of Computer Programs
Can you tell what someone is doing on their computer by measuring the temperature? My hypothesis is that I will be able to notice the temperatures of different programs, but not exactly what they are doing. The experiment I did measures the temperature of my computer after 1 hour of running each program. Most programs heat the computer to about 85°F, at consistent temperatures. If hackers measure your computer’s temperature over time, they might get an idea of what you like and what you do.

Does Temperature affect Mice's Behavior?
My science fair project tests if raising the temperature in the mice's enclosure will make them act differently. When the temperature gets to 32 degrees Celsius I observe the mice's actions and compare them to their actions to when it is room temperature, then I can see if there ends up being a change in their behavior.

Which is a better energy source: Lemons or Potatoes
Hey, did you know that you can use fruits and vegetables to make electricity? You can use fruits to make an LED light glow. You can also use a vegetable to light up a light bulb. There is one question. Which is a better energy source: lemons or potatoes?

Recharging a Battery with a Common Material
My project helps to save some money on batteries. I rubbed batteries on a carpet to create static electricity. This will create a little charge in the battery. The battery may not last long, but it is enough to continue your activity. If you would like, you can try this at home. It is safe and fun!

Proving the 5 second rule
We have a virus going around and I want to show you that it is not safe to pick up your food and eat it. Please read about my experiment and find out if it is safe for children to eat food off the ground in a certain amount of time. So I got some fruit, dropped it, and timed it and I got some surprising results.

How much voltage is needed to turn an electric motor?
For my science project, I built an electric motor and tested the speed of the motor when voltage is applied. I applied different amounts of voltage and observed the speed of the motor. The amount of voltage was 1.5 volts, 3 volts, and 6 volts.

Does Music Have an Effect on Concentration?
Have you ever listened to music while performing a task and thought you did it more productively? Well, I have, and I wondered if it was the music that actually helped. In this experiment, I tested to see if listening to music while taking a test increased or decreased the subject’s score.

What Type of Paper Plane Flies the Farthest?
My project is testing three type of paper planes to see which one goes the farthest. The first type is a traditional plane which I suspected to go the least distance. Next was a speed glider which came in 1 inch behind the last one. The farthest one was the bull nose glider it was inconsistent but went the farthest on multiple occasions. I tested with three different planes for each type of plane. I also used 1 different person per plane. Each plane got 5 throws per person.

No Dry Hair!
I did my experiment on dry hair. I'm testing if shampoo with and without argan and coconut oil will keep your hair dry or moist. I wanted to see if the hair has high, medium, or low porosity. I put the hair in a container of water and see if it floats (dry) or sinks (not dry). My results are on a table to see if it stayed the same porosity or changed.

Does Music Affect a Mouse's Speed in a Maze?
Have you ever wondered if music is good for small animals like mice? This project sees if it is. Several mice were put into a maze, and each one listened to one genre of music except for one. Those mice were then put in 2 more times and the average of all their times was recorded. This experiment shows if one genre of music is beneficial to mice.

Which fruit fries the fastest?
My experiment was done to see which fruit could fry the fastest. I took a pot and heated canola oil on the stove. I fried grapes, pineapples, apples, and figs while timing them to see how long they would take to fry. I did this experiment three times so my results would be accurate. I wrote down the times of how long they took and saw that grapes took the shortest time.

Can Plant Based Soap Affect Plants?
Did you ever wonder if plant-based soap affected plants? My hypothesis was that adding more soap in the plant will not grow as well as the one with less soap. To test this out I had three different groups and each of the groups got a different amount of soap. After I tested the experiment, I learned that my hypothesis was correct. The plants with more soap had much more brown spotting.

How Music Affects Emotions
I tested how music affects people's emotions. I played five songs for four subjects. Two of the songs were below 100 beats per minute and the others were above that. After playing them the songs I had them answer questions about how the song made them feel. They said the faster paced songs would make them feel good emotions while the slower songs were bad emotions.

How ferrofluid works
My science fair project is about how ferrofluid works. Ferrofluid is attracted to very strong magnets called neodymium magnets. Ferrofluid has tiny magnetized pieces in the fluid. And when that gets near a neodymium magnet it turns into a solid. The only way to get the ferrofluid off the magnet is to wash it off. You can hold it up and the liquid will stay on the magnet.

Does Color Affect Taste?
In this project, I did an experiment in an attempt to answer the question, “Does color affect taste?” I had subjects taste four drinks, all glasses of apple juice just with a different color, and rank them to see which they liked the best and the least. What was the data I gathered? Well, you’ll have to click to find out!

How Does Music Affect A Person's Mood?
For my project, I wanted to see how different people react listening to songs. I wanted to figure out why some songs make you cry and some make you happy. I did this by playing two songs, an original happy song and a sadder cover. I wanted to learn if you needed to be in a sad mood to feel sad about a song or if a person’s mood doesn’t affect it.

What Causes Teens the Most Stress?
The stress of teens varies in many aspects, but in my project, I discovered the main stressor that causes high depression and anxiety levels in teenagers. In my conducted experiment, I asked twenty-five teenagers to fill out a survey about each topic of stress on social media, peer pressure, and school. My results of school being the highest stressor will help people provide a healthy way for teenagers to cope with their daily stress in the future.
