All classes are taught by a credentialed Sage Oak teacher. "LIVE!" classes take place weekly via Zoom meetings or other live online platforms. Classes that are not labeled "LIVE!" will be conducted via email, Google Classroom, recorded video, or other communication platforms on a weekly basis.

Grade levels are suggested based on content. If your student is interested in a specific class or topic but does not fit within the suggested grade range, please feel free to sign up. Reach out to the class teacher if you have a specific question about the class or regarding content difficulty. You can submit your questions to the teacher directly using the sign-up form.
Class Description: During this four week enrichment class, students will make their own ice cream, predict and test what makes gummy bears grow and more. At the beginning of each week students will watch a video that correlates to the weekly science topic, complete a fun experiment, write/draw a response and record a video to share with the class using FlipGrid.
Materials Needed: downloaded FlipGrid app, pencil, printer, half and half, sugar, vanilla extract, ice, salt, gallon and quart sized bags, spoon, measuring cup, chocolate chips, cup, gummy bears, water, and baking soda

Class Description: Let's Go Camping! We will have fun together learning camping songs, exploring nature and doing outdoor activities while we are at home! Each week you will receive a recorded video with campfire songs and fun, independent activities for Grades K-2.
Materials Needed: Ants on a Log- Celery, Peanut Butter and Raisins. Trail Mix- any snack mixture. Fruit boat- foil and fruit. Smore's- graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. (All food items are optional, feel free to substitute with food items in your household).
Platform: Videos will be emailed on Fridays at 10 am followed by email correspondence throughout the week.
Class Description: Storybook STEM offers student a hands-on opportunity to think outside the box and engage in exciting STEM activities that connect with popular picture books. Students will start the lesson off by listening to a reading of the boo of the week. Then they will be given a STEM challenge to complete that correlates to the book. They will use common household items to complete these STEM challenges. Students will able to upload their completed challenge to the SeeSaw platform to share with their peers.
Materials Needed: Downloaded SeeSaw app. The items listed below are suggestions and may be substituted with items found around your home.
Week 1: The 3 Little Pigs - sticks/toothpicks, marshmallows/DOTS, paper/straws, rubber bands/string, Legos/sugar cubes.
Week 2: The Three Billy Goat Gruff - Q tips, toilet paper rolls, paper, glue, Popsicle sticks, tape.
Week 3: If I Built a Car - Legos, sticks, glues/tape, paper/cardboard, balloon.
Week 4: The Napping House - plastic/paper cups, Popsicle sticks, clothespins.

Class Description: Calling all aspiring LEGO® Masters! Join Mrs. Bird and her kids as we tackle a new challenge each week using all those loose plastic bricks. Each week's build will focus on a mini-figure that we serve as inspiration for our creations. Our session will end with a time to share our master builds.

Class Description: Mystery Science is an easy, fun, effective, and engaging way to discover and learn all about science. Students will view great video-based storytelling, answer built-in discussion questions, and participate with hands-on projects. We will explore different aspects of animal and plant life discovering what they need for survival, variation of traits, and habitats. Come with me while we crack the mystery and discover all about science.

Class Description: In this class we will learn everything you need to know about growing plants. From what a plant needs to grow, to the parts of a plant, to the plant's life cycle...we will even grow our own plant! By the end of this course you will really have your own green thumb.

Class Description: Have you ever seen a live caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly? That’s what we are going to do here! Every week we will observe the growth of a caterpillar and watch how it evolves into a butterfly in our butterfly garden. Along with that, we will tie in fun and educational activities to go along with the theme of what we are learning.

Class Description: In this class, we will be exploring different habitats around the world: deserts, rainforests, oceans, and grasslands. We'll listen to stories, watch fun videos, explore amazing plant and animal adaptations, and take virtual quizzes to test your knowledge. Many resources will be shared if you choose to take your learning to the next level.

Class Description: Do you love Science? Do you ever find yourself wondering about chemical reactions, gravity, or other Science elements? If your answer is yes, then you may want to come join this fun class as we predict, explore, investigate and experiment with Physical Science elements, including: gravity, chemical reactions, force, and temperature change. You will even get to eat one of your tasty experiments. Come join us for a fun experiment a week as we explore the world of Science together.
Materials Needed: Zoom app downloaded, device with camera and microphone
Week 1 - balloons (3), narrow funnel (or paper cone), 1 tbs. active dry yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, measuring spoons, measuring cup, warm water and ruler.
Week 2 - cup of water, ice cubes, string or yarn, table salt, and plain piece of paper.
Week 3 - penny, pencil, cotton balls, wooden popsicle stick or toothpick, crayon, small rock, rubber band and bowl of water.
Week 4 - 1 quart resealable plastic baggie, 1 gallon resealable plastic baggie, ¼ cup sugar, ¼ teaspoon vanilla flavoring, ½ cup milk, rock salt, ice cubes, thermometer, measuring cups, styrofoam cups, and plastic spoons.

Class Description: Join us as we learn all about the monarch butterfly! We will read all about the monarch butterfly, take a virtual tour, learn about geography, and complete some a culminating art project! Each week you will respond with a short video (using FlipGrid App).

Class Description: Students will design, create, engineer, predict and test their creations. Students will problem solve and think critically as they complete their airplane challenges.

Class Description: Join me as we explore The Engineering Design Process! We will utilize recycled goods and basic home/school supplies to do a weekly STEM challenge. We will be creating a roller coaster, parachute, balloon car, and I will even be challenging you to make a structure to hold books out of paper. I can't wait to get started!
Materials Needed: Device with camera and microphone, download Zoom App, downloaded SeeSaw app, newspaper (or paper you are ready to recycle), books of any kind, balloons, marble(s), Lego mini figure or small toy, string of some kind (fishing line, ribbon, yarn, dental floss, etc.), scissors, tape and/or glue, and recycled goods (Start putting them aside now! We will be utilizing things like cardboard boxes, water bottles, and empty rolls of tape/cardboard/toilet paper.)

Class Description: Each week we will learn about a different simple machine and do a hands-on activity to demonstrate how it works. You would be surprised by the machines that you use everyday without even knowing it!

Class Description: Use your knowledge of Science and Puzzles to escape from 4 different digital Escape Rooms! Participate as an individual or form a team with your siblings or friends. Can you solve the clues to unlock your room in the 2 hour time limit? Science topics include Organisms/Ecosystems, Earth’s Processes, Matter and Forces/Energy.

Class Description: Want to make a loaf of bread from scratch? Over the next 4 weeks we will be learning all about sourdough and the science behind it! Using only flour and water, we will create a sourdough starter that will be used to make your very own loaf of sourdough bread. Each week we will put our science and math skills to the test as we log our observations and help our sourdough starter grow!
Materials Needed: Device with a camera and microphone, downloaded Seesaw app, flour, water, sugar or honey, salt, large 32+ oz non-metal container with lid (mason jar, large bowl, etc.), wooden/rubber spoon, paper, pencil, colored pencils/markers (optional)

Class Description: Calling all LEGO builders! This STEM LEGO Challenge enrichment class will consist of a different LEGO challenge each week, focusing on a different theme. For example, the first week will be focusing on bridges! Each week, we will go over the history and background information for each of the themes, followed by a challenge for each student to create a LEGO replica that fits within that week’s theme. The class will involve students researching, planning, building, and ultimately sharing what they learned and created with LEGOs for other students to view.

Class Description: We will work to understand that matter is composed of atoms and molecules that are attracted to each other and in constant motion! Students will explore the attractions and motion of atoms and molecules as they conduct hands-on experiments!
