All classes are taught by a credentialed Sage Oak teacher. "LIVE!" classes take place weekly via Zoom meetings or other live online platforms. Classes that are not labeled "LIVE!" will be conducted via email, Google Classroom, recorded video, or other communication platforms on a weekly basis.

Grade levels are suggested based on content. If your student is interested in a specific class or topic but does not fit within the suggested grade range, please feel free to sign up. Reach out to the class teacher if you have a specific question about the class or regarding content difficulty. You can submit your questions to the teacher directly using the sign-up form.

Class Description: Come and learn some basic Portuguese with me. I'll be teaching names of fruits and vegetables, household items, family members, among other vocabulary along with a few simple phrases.

Platform: Recorded video classes will be emailed Fridays at 10:30 am
Class Description: Explore Joshua Tree National Park through a multi-subject adventure that appeals to all styles of learning. We will see the plants and animals, learn about the people of the past and present, do some virtual star gazing, explore California regions (specifically the deserts), draw, read, write, and listen to music. There will be a parent's guide that includes suggestions for lesson modifications to meet students' ability levels.
Materials Needed: Pencil, paper (for writing and drawing), choice of crayons/markers/colored pencils

Class Description: Use your imagination and creativity to create your very own board game! You'll be making the game board, game pieces and rules based on the theme of your choice.
Materials Needed: Computer or tablet to access Seesaw, construction paper, scissors, glue, coloring tools (crayons, colored pencils, etc.), printer/paper (optional if you want to use provided templates)
Platform: Activities will be uploaded to Seesaw by 10 am on Mondays. Students can complete activities at their own pace throughout the week. Email correspondence available if needed.
Class Description: Have you ever observed people signing and wondered what they were saying? Are you curious about deaf culture? Do you think you might want to take ASL as your foreign language in high school? Then this class is for you! We will start by exploring the deaf culture. We will focus on basic signs for everyday life including colors, greetings, family and animals.
Materials Needed: Device with camera and microphone, downloaded Zoom app
Platform: Live Zoom meetings on Wednesdays from 11 am - 11:30 am
Class Description: Take a trip back in time as we explore how music shaped our country from 1950 to current times. We'll visit different eras each week, listen to the popular hits, learn about key historical events, and participate in activities prominent to each era.
Materials Needed: Google Classroom, photo and/or video recording device, commonly used craft supplies (optional)
Platform: Assignments for each era will be posted in Google Classroom on Mondays. The assignments will consist of listening and responding to songs, reading fun historical facts, and optionally participating in events and activities that correspond to the era. Students' responses to the assignments can be submitted throughout the week, with a final deadline on Fridays. The teacher will interact with students' responses to the assignments as they are posted. Students will have the option to share their responses with the whole class or just the teacher.
Class Description: Come join us for a fun and interactive virtual class where you will design and deliver a "how-to" speech. Students will learn how to confidently share information in front of a group while also learning to effectively critique others.
Materials Needed: You will need your imagination and access to Zoom and a device with a camera and microphone
