Module surveys run about twice a year and cover the course schedule, SAE's organization and support, as well as the workplaces and the student's own development. They are completely anonymous. You will receive feedback on the results that come out of these surveys through Canvas.
The results of these surveys are also addressed in Board of Study meetings and also reported in the annual report to Middlesex University. The entire process is overseen by an external quality management team, ensuring the best possible process for students.
The so-called "Board of Study Meetings" represent a round of talks between the class representatives and the SAE staff. Normally these meetings take place twice a year - once in spring and once in fall.
Participants in these meetings are usually:
Student Representatives
Department Heads
Academic Coordinator
Head of School
Each course should have a class representative who represents the course in communication with SAE. Problems in the class or with the teaching can be brought to the attention of the SAE by the class representative. Conversely, SAE can also share their feedback on problems and solutions with the class through the student representatives.
When your class representative specifically asks you for feedback, it is usually just before a Board of Study meeting. If you have a problem or suggestion that has not yet been resolved in a face-to-face meeting with your department chair, take the opportunity to have your student representative bring your opinion to the meeting.
There are minutes to each of these Board of Study meetings, with the issues, problems, and the solutions or recommended actions. These minutes will be sent to Middlesex University.
At SAE there are 2 feedback boxes that you can use to give feedback anonymously. You can find these boxes on the ground floor in the Student Lounge and in the Practice Area on the 5th floor.
The boxes are emptied every month, the points are summarized and discussed in the staff meetings.
