When you have received your enrollment confirmation from our administration, we have accepted your contract and you are enrolled with us. Before the start of your studies you will receive the course start letter, which contains your login data and information about the SAE Central Login (login.sae.edu).
If you have not yet submitted any of the following documents, you should do so now at the latest, as they are a prerequisite for enrollment:
Proof of identity (passport)
Certificate of completion of your high school diploma or professional training
Audiogram (Audio Engineering)
Your studies will take place in cooperation with our partner university in England, the University of Hertfodshire. To get an impression of this university, you can visit it on the Internet at https://www.herts.ac.uk/.
If you have any questions about the start of the course, please contact your department head.
During the first week of classes you will have an introduction to your studies. Here your department head will tell you everything you need to know about SAE Vienna and explain how you can make the most of your time with us.
In addition to an overview of the modules and course content, the examination modalities will be explained to you. You will be shown how our online learning system "Canvas" works and how to get along with the teaching process. Furthermore, you will be shown the premises, the staff will be introduced and the house rules will be explained.
At the end of the first week you will have:
Had a tour of the school
Met your department head and supervisors, if any.
Paid your course fee, depending on your payment plan
Updated your contact information (email, phone) so that SAE can reach you.
Access to the calendar for your class schedule
MOST IMPORTANTLY - learned who you can contact with questions and concerns.
Your student ID is an important document to have with you whenever you are on campus. It not only identifies you as a current student, but you can also use it to rent equipment, book workstations, and pick up documents such as school attendance records and grade reports from supervisors.
On your student ID card you will find:
Your photo
Your student number
Your course of study
Your expected graduation date
Your class schedule
At the beginning of each module you will receive the corresponding class schedule in the Student Portal (under the item "Curriculum"). You can view it there or subscribe to it as a calendar on your computer or mobile device.
Please make sure that the calendar is updated regularly so that you don't miss any changes!
Here you will also find the zoom links to your online lectures. Clicking on them will open the landing page where you will need to log in with your username and password. 15 minutes before the class starts you can log in to the class. Here you can choose between two options (see screenshot):
Interactive meeting: the normal zoom room will open. Here you can ask the instructor questions and interact with your fellow students. Attendance is taken automatically (within the first 15 minutes, so always be on time, also out of respect for the teacher).
Timeshift: Here you will be redirected to our video provider "Panopto". You will receive the same lesson, but you can press stop and play at any time and rewind or fast forward.
You can find the recordings of the online classes, class notes and deadlines for your assignments on our online learning platform Canvas. You can find this at login.sae.edu under the "Canvas" tab.
If you have difficulties with Canvas, please contact the supervisors or your department head.
In addition to the fixed class dates, you can use the SAE practice workstations freely at any time and practice your skills there. In many cases, especially in the studios, you should book these places so that there are no scheduling problems. In fact, the practical exercises are the main focus of your studies. How to book the workstations and equipment will be explained to you by your department head and supervisors.
Depending on your contract, you can pay your course fees either at the beginning of the Diploma/Bachelors (Plan A - Prepayment) or in monthly installments (Plan B - Standard; Plan F - Financing). All monthly installments are due on the 1st of each month. An exception is the first installment, which is due at the start of the course. We recommend that you set up a standing order so that course fees are received on time. Checks and cash payments are not accepted.
If you are transferring or having transferred course fees, please write the following in the subject line:
Your first and last name (not the account holder's name).
If your payment is not received on time or cannot be assigned to your student number, we will send you the first reminder by email and the second reminder by mail approximately two weeks later.
Consequences of outstanding course fees:
Equipment and workstation locks
Login block
Confirmations and certificates will not be handed out
Attendance at exams is not possible
Final documents will not be issued
If you have questions about your tuition and payment plans, please contact the Campus Coordinator (Alexandra: a.novak@sae.edu ).
Each SAE campus is led by a principal and an Academic Coordinator (AC). Within the campus there are different departments, each of which is supervised by a Head of Department (HI).
The department heads, together with the Academic Coordinator, ensure that your studies run as smoothly as possible
Good self-organization is a key to success in your studies. Here are some simple tips on what you can do to get more organized
Plan ahead. You'll get test dates and exam deadlines well in advance. So you can start preparing for them well in advance and organize other appointments accordingly.
Break down the tasks. Big exams can often seem daunting. At worst, you may not dare to start. If you divide a big task into several small steps and, for example, first create an outline (or table of contents) for the task, it will be easier. The resulting small tasks (or sub-tasks of the outline) can then be given relatively tight deadlines and implemented. If you do everything at the last minute, then not only will the assignment be stressful, it will often not result in the grade you should have been able to achieve.
Be realistic. If you already have deadlines or commitments, plan your studies around them. Don't cheat yourself with the amount of work you can do in a day.
