In the Community

Support for our Wilmington community takes many forms. First, we welcome all people in Wilmington to join in in worship and bible study at the church. In addition, we encourage our members to respond individually with Christian love to the needs they see in the community. And finally, we offer opportunities to work with the church and our mission and ministry partners to solve critical problems such as homelessness, hunger, addiction, loneliness, and fear. Find your way to one of our community serving opportunities below.

Need help? Have questions?

We have many opportunities to serve in the community, but the choices can be overwhelming. If you'd like to speak with someone about serving, schedule an appointment, or call the church office at (910) 762-9693

Serving Opportunities

Donations for May: New and Gently Used Domestic Items

Each time a family "graduates" from the Family Promise/WIHN program, they begin their life with a new job and in a transitional home. Most families leave the program with few items needed for their new home. Please stop by the Donation Area for a list of much needed items (the only things not needed are flatware and blankets). Please check your closets for gently used items that you no longer use to "shower" WIHN families with our Christian love. You can find more information about Family Promise of Lower Cape Fear (WIHN) on the bulletin board above the donation table. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Serve and Support The Help Hub

The Help Hub – located at 20 North 4th Street, Suite 100 – operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering at the Help Hub as a greeter, adviser, coordinator, or administrator, please contact Sonja McFarland, Help Hub Director at 910-769-5357 or via email at helphubdirector@gmail.com. If you are interested in supporting the ministry financially through SACPC, you can contribute your offering during worship, or can send a check to SACPC with a designation to “Help Hub” in the memo line.

Partnerships in Mission & Ministry

Jo Ann Carter Harrelson Center

The Jo Ann Carter Harrelson Center Inc. is a North Carolina nonprofit corporation that supports and partners with other nonprofit organizations in the Wilmington community. The Center works with its partners to meet the needs of the community in areas such as safe and affordable housing, education, employment, health care and family support. The Center recognizes the critical needs of others and encourages, uplifts and assists them in rebuilding their lives through the services provided in the center. We support the Harrelson Center through participation in the Center's Help Hub.
