Erasmus in Lappeenranta (Finland)

I am Ángela Aledo, a student from Sabuco High School who was lucky enough to participate in a mobility of the Erasmus program from 6th to 12th March 23. After having lived one of the most unique experiences of my life, I can affirm that I would repeat it again without a doubt.

In our case, the Erasmus consisted of an exchange with Lappeenranta, a small town in the south of Finland. Although at first we were nervous, because we didn't know what to expect from our experience there, we soon realized how wise it had been to go all out. In this place we have lived unique experiences that we certainly did not expect, such as sledding down snowy mountains or bathing in a completely frozen lake. But personally, what I value most about this trip is the opportunity I have had to learn about a culture so different from ours. I have been able to see how education and the economy work there, as well as living from within the family life of a Finnish house that has treated me excellently.

As a last point, I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the Erasmus program that has made this valuable experience possible, and of course I would like to encourage everyone to give this type of trip a chance, where apart from learning, you experience moments that you’ll remember for all your life. In conclusion, a part of me stays in Finland, and being now aware of how valuable these trips can be, I will certainly participate again in the future.
