Open to God's presence, St Alipius is a Catholic learning community of excellence, equity and empowerment.
May your love and light shine in and through me today
In a way that no mask can hide.
May my eyes dance with the laughter and joy
Replacing my hidden smile.
May my actions of care and concern
Speak louder than my muffled voice ever could.
And may the generosity of my heart
Radiate out through who I am
And how I respond to the world around me
So that others may not see my mask
But your image shining out
Moving in and through me today.
Amen

To access the PDF document below, scroll or open the file in a new tab.The purpose of the play this morning was connection and re-establishing our whole school community.
It was also a great opportunity for adults to support our younger students in managing a busy playground again. It has been a long time since all our students have shared a space together.
Here are some photos from our morning.
Digital Technology | CODING
By the end of Level 4, students describe how a range of digital systems. Students define simple problems, and design and develop digital solutions using algorithms that involve decision-making and user input.
This semester students learned to read basic notation from a music staff and play it on instruments such as keyboard and glockenspiel. Students used strategies to identify the notes on the staff and recall fruit rhythms from previous years in order to play pieces of music with the class. Students worked on writing songs for a purpose. They created lyrics as a group and performed original songs.
Here is one of the songs we created based on the five learning dispositions. We all added lyrics, chose a musical style and made up the actions based on the meaning of the message we wanted to share.

Throughout the first three weeks of Term 4 students from years 3-6 experienced a staggered return to onsite schooling.
Students in the 3/4 Learning Community returned onsite Tuesday & Wednesday during Week 1 & 2 and students in the Year 5 and 6 Learning Communities returned onsite Thursday and Friday during Week 1 & 2.
Our youngest people in the school (F/1/2) have been learning onsite full time.
This week Jane joined us during our Investigation time to share her Noongar language with us and to run a clinic about Indigenous animals. Jane has also supported us to form an acknowledgment of country that we will use in our Foundation Learning Community.
Last Friday, students in the Year 6 Leadership Team showcased the 'World Creator' inquiry process they had engaged in throughout Term 3. This opportunity enabled students to engage in rich and robust conversations about learning and respond to questions posed to them by students from the Year 5 Learning Community.
The brief for the World Creator projects was to create a world that would enable humans and other living things to not only survive but to thrive.
