God of the Ordinary
The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how.
Mark 4:26-27
As the liturgical calendar moves from the Easter season back into Ordinary Time, it is a good reminder for us that the movement of the Spirit most often occurs in the mundane and inconsequential moments and places of life. The reign of God is evident in the kind word, the gentle action or the warm embrace. Scripture scholar Barbara E Reid notes: “No action is too small for sowing God’s reign. Faithful everyday choices to scatter the seeds of Christ’s love unleashes a power that can transform the world.”
May the Spirit move us into places, conversations and encounters that will realize the reign of God in our communities. Your kingdom come, your will be done.

The 3/4 Learning Community have been learning about Aboriginal X-Ray art. Aboriginal x-ray art is a traditional style used to depict local animals and stories. The animals are painted showing some anatomical and musculoskeletal features which are important to the artist. This style of art shows a connection to country and an understanding of the relationship between animals and plants.
