Raymondville ISD’s Plan for TIA Award Determinations

Raymondville ISD used guidance provided by TEA in determining the allotment of funds (§48.112). The distribution of allotment funds included stakeholder input from TIA committee members that included, Superintendent, CFO, Teachers, C&I, and Principals. Stakeholders voted to utilize the 90% funds for the designated teacher that was assigned to the content area and grade level in order to reward, retain and recruit highly effective teachers. The 10% of the allotment funds will be used to support the TIA initiative at the district level to use as follows:

  • Funding for student growth measure assessments and/or analysis.

  • Costs associated with district created pre/post tests,

  • Funding for teacher professional development,

  • Funding for teacher observation calibration,

  • Funding as deemed appropriate to support the TIA initiative

  • Support for teachers seeking National Board Certification Designation.

Current salary schedule formats will remain for teacher base pay. The allotment will be distributed to teachers in the form of a stipend and depending on when the funds are made available will either be paid in form of a stipend from May through August or paid no later than August 31 to meet statutory requirements (§48.112).
