In its continued commitment to community engagement and academic excellence, the Chemical Engineering Department of MSU-Marawi, together with its student organization, the Chemical Engineering Students' Society (ChESS), spearheaded an extension program aimed at enhancing the aptitude skills of incoming college applicants from Marawi City National High School (MCNHS).
The program focused on preparing students for the SASE (System Admission and Scholarship Examination) through a series of structured learning activities held over three key dates: the Opening Program and Pre-Test on October 26, the Tutorial Session on November 16, and the Post-Test and Culmination Activity on November 28, 2024.
Instruction was led by faculty members and alumni of the department:
Prof. Amierson handled Letter Series and Logical Reasoning;
Engr. Lhemar Jon facilitated lessons on Number Series and Comparison;
Engr. Christine discussed Missing Numbers and Analogies, also sharing effective test-taking strategies.
Moreover, ChESS Officers prepared and printed questionnaires and made the answer sheets for the aptitude exam.
The program was participated in by over 50 students from MCNHS, who actively engaged in the sessions. The school administration warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the support extended by MSU-Marawi and signaling interest in further collaborations.
This extension program underscores the Chemical Engineering Department's dedication to public service and educational empowerment, particularly in helping local students better prepare for college entrance exams.
