New Movie Filming in Mamaroneck

On August 27th and 28th, everyone who wanted to go to Miller’s Toy Store in Mamaroneck, New York, was turned away. People witnessed large trucks blocking parking spaces, crews ushering the crowd away, and cones separating the store from the rest of the street. What was going on? Was someone famous coming? In a way, yes, they were filming a movie. 

The movie is called Focker-in-Law, and it is the fourth addition to the Meet the Parents franchise. It is a blockbuster movie with many high-profile stars. One of them is Ben Stiller, who is reprising his role as Greg Focker. Stiller has been in many successful movies, starring in Night of the Museum, Megamind, and Madagascar. Another famous actor reprising his role is Robert de Niro who is acting as Jack Byrnes. He was featured in Joker, The Godfather Part II, and Taxi Driver. The last notable actress is Ariana Grande. Already famous for her singing career, Ariana Grande has acted in Victorious, Wicked, and Sam & Cat. Focker-in-Law follows Greg and Pam Focker’s grown-up son, Henry, as he introduces his fiancée to his parents.

The movie has started filming in New Jersey and New York, coming to our very own Miller’s Toy Store. Miller’s Toy Store was changed to Rizzo & Son’s party supplies. The sign has been rewritten, and balloons and streamers fill the windows. On August 27th and 28th, when the filming was happening, residents noticed the giant film crews and flocked to the scene. Those people saw Ariana Grande in the back entrance of Miller’s, and they witnessed Ben Stiller coming out and waving to them. Mamaroneck Avenue did have reduced parking and a bit more traffic on those filming days.

The reason why Miller’s was changed to Rizzo & Son’s party supplies was because of the new movie, Focker-in-Law, that used it as a filming location.
