Advisory

Advisory committee meets 10 times within a school year to discuss both revising and/or creating policies and/or procedures for Rocky View Schools. Five of these meetings we meet as a committee of local RVATA 35 members to ensure that a teacher's perspective is added to each of the board policies and/or procedures that are being created or revised. The other five meetings are with members of Rocky View Schools Executive, Human Resources and Principals to finalize the amendments to current policies/procedures/forms or the format and terms of a new policy/procedure/forms.

We are a committee of up to 6 RVATA 35 members plus our president, however, we send our chair, one member at large and our president to meet with the "APAC Committee" to decide what to edit, whether or not we want to suggest that a new policy or procedure should be created and where our next meeting will be held. While we are a committee of 6+1 we only send 3 members to the APAC meeting to finalize changes that are made to Rocky View Schools Policies and Procedures.

If you have a policy that you think should be changed, send an email to our committee chair. If you have a policy that you think our School Board should have but does not exist, use AF121 (Request to Initiate Administrative Procedure Development Process) and send it in to the committee chair. If you are a policy junkie, this is the committee for you to join, we still have one vacancy!!!
