The Instructional Coaching Academy is year-long intensive learning experience for instructional coaches who are wanting to extend their skills and deepen their impact. The Academy includes five day-long sessions, blended learning through assignments and the development of a Community of Practice that will sustain professional learning of coaches beyond the academy. There is an application process for this professional learning experience that is geared to school based implementation of instructional coaching. Schools are increasingly using high impact teachers to coach and mentor colleagues; however, this new role can often be misunderstood. Raising the capacity of others requires a unique skill set and a support system. This one-day seminar offers practical strategies for leveraging school-based coaches to improve student outcomes. Topics include job descriptions, coaching responsibilities, the ideal coaching cycle, progress monitoring, measuring the impact of instructional coaching and more.
