Creative Writing

Are you an aspiring novelist, humorist, or short story writer? Do you want to take your writing to the next level? Work with an accomplished journalist and author to hone your writing skills and create prose that makes a lasting impression. Discussions, assigned readings, writing exercises and critiques are all part of this six week course.

Author information: Bill Ervolino is a an award winning journalist and humor columnist. His writing has appeared in The Record, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Vogue, Parents Choice, The New York Times, The Daily News and The New York Post. He is the author of "Some Kind of Wiseguy" and co - author of "The Backstage Performing Artists Handbook" and "Italian American Authors on New Jersey."

Public Speaking

Uncomfortable standing and speaking before and audience or at business meetings? Do you have problems making special occasion toasts and speeches? You are not alone. But, your anxiety can be overcome with a little practice in a positive, supportive environment that will help you build confidence and enhance your speaking skills and business presentations. Learn how to prepare and present an informative speech, a persuasive speech, a war/ humorous speech, even a sales pitch. You can do it.

Author information: Bill Ervolino is a journalist (The Record), speaker and performer, who studied public speaking as a teenager to overcome his fear of reading aloud in class. Today he speaks before groups of hundred of people about 30-40 times a year, unfortunately, he never shuts up.
