Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year at RSM Newton!
It feels like yesterday that we were wishing you a great vacation and now we are very excited to see our students back at school! We eagerly look forward to meeting our newest learners and cannot wait to see our returning students again.
I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy your summer vacation. Whether you traveled to meet your friends and extended family or stayed in the area and attended summer school, we hope that the summer helped build new energy for a wonderful year of learning, exploring and creating knowledge together.
Over the summer, our team worked tirelessly on renovating rooms, updating our curriculum and technology to make the learning environment efficient and effective for every child. As I was speaking with many of you over the summer, I continue to be amazed by the support and interest in our community. Your involvement and commitment together with our dedicated teachers and curriculum will ensure that our children will have another year of excellent math education.

We start our classes in 2023-2024 academic year in RSM-Newton on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023.

If you haven't enrolled yet your children for the 2023-2024 please check your email with recommendations, submit an application or let us know if you have any questions. Many classes are full already, don't lose your spot.

RSM-NEWTON IS NOW A CAMBRIDGE ADMISSIONS TESTING CENTER
We are very pleased to let you know that Cambridge Admissions Testing is now
available at RSM-Newton: one of only two testing centers in Massachusetts!
Cambridge Admissions tests are prerequisites for entrance into some courses at certain prestigious universities, particularly in the UK and Europe, such as the University of Oxford or Cambridge University. Depending on the chosen institution and course, students may need to take an admissions test as part of their application (some joint degree courses require you to take two tests). As well as being an entry requirement, an admissions test gives students the chance to show their potential to succeed in their course.
Cambridge admissions assessments are a global mark of excellence setting the quality standard in the higher education field. The research-based admissions tests are the result of collaboration between universities, governments and employers. By being an official test center, RSM-Newton joins a global network of centers in over 150 countries, making the test more accessible to students.

RSM Chess Tournament
September 24th, 2023
10 am
50 Mill Str, Arlington
We're inviting all of our students to participate in a chess tournament!
This tournament is unrated, which means anyone without a rating or USCF rated under 200 can participate! The number of participants is capped at 100, so please don't delay and register soon!
Everyone plays four games! The competition is run in 4 sections by grades: K-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-12. This will be a great opportunity to have some fun, interact with peers, and receive good prizes!
Price:
The $40 participation fee is for Non-RSM students!
The $30 participation fee is for RSM students!

RSM Newton offers Online Chess classes.
Tuition is $28.00 per 45-min lesson. Total is 32 lessons.

Math Competition Preparation
We have begun the process of enrolling for our Math Competition Program (MCP) classes for the academic year.
MCP prepares students for regional and national math competitions, with a curriculum and problem-solving strategies that are designed by experienced specialists in competition preparation. MCP also serves as a gateway for team competitions and NMCP - our most advanced competitions preparation program.
SAT Math, SAT English, ISEE/SSAT English Preparation
RSM Newton offers SAT MAth, SAT English, and ISEE/SSAT English Preparation classes.
The first class is on October 1st.
The registration is open.

THE LATEST MPOWER ISSUE IS READY

Nicolas attended Belmont RSM for 4 years. His favorite teacher was Ms. Vodenicharska; she sparked an interest in more rigorous proof-based maths in Nicolas. Now he feels more confident than his college mates.
PARKING/PICK-UP/DROP-OFF POLICY
For safety reasons and according to our policy, please do not leave your child unattended during drop off. Please wait with them until the teacher meets the students in the lobby before class. RSM provides supervision for students only during their scheduled class time.
Please drive slowly.
Do not block traffic. Park in a designated spot rather than stopping in the middle of the parking lot. In addition to our parking lot, you can park on Wells Ave and walk to the entrance.
Please don't use the handicapped spaces if you do not have a handicapped permit.
Never allow your children to walk in the parking lot unattended. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
