I post handouts and assignments that can be reviewed or reprinted if lost. Students have to log in with their school username and password to access these. The most common problem families have logging in from home is that the browser is already logged in to another person's Gmail account. Ensure that the browser is logged in with the student's info and you should be able to access these resources without trouble.

  • We send out regular updates and reminders as a team via Remind. You can join that group to receive notifications by texting @rcmsah21 to 81010 OR by going to www.remind.com/join/rcmsah21. If you already have the Remind app, you can click "join" and enter the code @rcmsah21.


  • Russell County Schools also offers INOW Home Portal as an option for keeping up with students' grades. Use the student's email and password to log in and you'll be able to see their grades as they are entered rather than have to wait until progress reports or report cards.

FAQ's about my procedures

  • How often do I enter grades? I grade all assignments once a week, usually on Tuesdays or Wednesdays
      • Occasionally, especially with essays and other large projects, grading will take longer than one day that week, but in those cases I will work on it as much as I can until it's done.


  • Do I take work after the due date? I do take late work, but I don't provide extra copies unless the student was absent. Almost all handouts and activities can be found on Google Classroom by date so that students and parents can take late work or work not completed into their own hands.
  • What do these letters mean in place of a grade in INOW? Here are some grading codes I use (these are district codes):
      • NHI - Not Handed In = 0%
      • ABS - Absent and not yet made up, can be replaced with another grade if turned in = 0% if remains
      • RET - Work was turned in, but not up to standard. It has been returned to student to be redone or completed = 50% until redone
      • EXC/EXP - Excused/Exempt = no grade at all, does not hurt or help average in any way
      • NST - New Student Transfer = no grade at all, does not hurt or help average in any way; can be replaced with transfer grade
      • DNA/DNF - Did Not Attempt/Did Not Finish = 0%
      • HWP - Homework Pass = 100%


  • When will I respond to messages or emails? I try to respond to all messages within 24 hours. Sometimes over a weekend or break it will be longer. I do try to protect my time with my family, but I feel like it's better for you to ask when you think of something, so don't be afraid to send an email or Class Dojo message at any time. Then, I can answer when I am able, so I'll never be offended by the timing of a message.
