A Hyperdoc is a lesson that is specifically designed to create a student-facing, blended learning experience. Inside of this lesson, students have voice; they are collaborating, creating, communicating and critically thinking their way through the content. It is created to help inspire students’ inquiry and curiosity - driving them to exploration, to find answers to their questions, build the background knowledge and supports the application of their new knowledge in order to show what they know. Teachers create these lessons with their students in mind, scaffolding every step to help meet their learning needs.
Because HyperDocs are generally designed using Google Apps like Docs and Slides, it is very easy for teachers to make their own copy of a pre-existing HyperDoc they have found online and edit it to make it work for their own lesson. To make a copy, click on File > Make a copy.
Teachers can also design their own HyperDocs by utilizing one of the pre-made templates found HERE. Create a copy of the HyperDoc template and use the format to create your own HyperDoc lesson.
Another option would be to create a HyperDoc lesson from scratch using a Google Doc or Google Slide Deck. One of the HyperDoc templates should be used as a guide for the structure of the lesson. To organize the lesson, use a table in a Google Doc or different slides in a Slide Deck.
